Nancy Jean Peck, 76, passed away on February 3, 2023 surrounded by family.  Nancy was born August 6, 1946, in Ossowo, Michigan, to Keith and Margaret (Maxine) Sowerby.  She grew up in Sandusky, Michigan.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dean Sowerby.  She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Peck, two sons Brian (Amy) and Craig (Zoe) and four grandchildren, Jade, Carter, Dean, and Drew.

Nancy was a passionate weaver and master of the textile arts.  She was actively involved with the Michigan Weaving Guild, Cross Border Weavers, Michigan League of Handweavers, Complex Weavers, and the Handweavers Guide of America.  She loved to share and pass on what she learned in her weaving pursuits, teaching weaving at conferences and at Michigan Fine Yarns in Livonia for many years.  Her weaving emphasis was on fashion and home décor fabrics.  She worked extensively on rigid heddle multi-shaft computer-aided looms.

Nancy was an accomplished world traveler having lived in Europe in the late 1980's with her family and later in Asia with her husband, George, in the early 2000's.  She enjoyed traveling and exploring the world having visited countless countries.

Nancy undoubtedly touched countless lives in her teaching and world travels with her quiet yet determined presence.

A memorial service is scheduled for friends Saturday May 6, 2023 at First United Methodist Church Dearborn, Michigan at 10am.
