Nicolas Vega Gamez passed away on October 6, 2022 at the age of 94. Nicolas was born in Michoacan, Mexico and later in his life decided he would move to the USA to chase the American dream. At the age of 56, he became a proud US resident. He later brought his sons to California, helped them get on their feet and eventually helped them get their permanent residency. Nicolas was a very hard working man, he loved working in the fields. Nicolas loved art, he was a great artist and loved making wood figures. He made a variety of figures including his own cane. He loved gardening as well, he had a green thumb. One of Nicolas' greatest qualities was his friendliness. He was very easy to get along with, his amazing life stories could keep anyone entertained for hours. Loved and cherished by many, Nicolas will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Beloved husband of the late Maria Eufrocina. Loving father of  Ana Sanchez (Armando), Leonardo (Patricia), Jose Luis (Claudia), Juan Carlos (Ana), Osbaldo (Angelica), Carmen, the late Serafin, and the late Alfredo (Faveola). Devoted grandfather of 23 and great-grandfather of 15.

Visitation at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home on Friday, October 14, 12-8pm with a Rosary to be held at 7pm. Instate at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1050 Porter St, Detroit, MI 48226) on Saturday, October 15, at 9:30am until time of Mass at 10am. Interment to follow at Woodmere Cemetery.
