Patricia Mary Botruff, age 81, passed away February 5, 2023.
Special friend of the late Darrel for over 30 years.
Beloved mother of Tammy (Vaughn) Glenn and Melissa Medford.
Caring grandmother of Wesley, William, Stuart, Sabrina, Elizabeth, Kevin, Sara, and Jasmine, and great-grandmother of Josiah.
Dear sister of Fran, Lola, Kathleen, Eddie, and the late Ronald, Rosemary, and Dolly.
Patricia was born September 10, 1941 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Ira and Altha Dittmar. As a child she became an accomplished acrobat and ventriloquist. She learned many new skills as a campfire girl and loved spending time at the lake with her siblings.
She attended high school at Romulus High School where she graduated in 1959. Following graduation, she worked at the local drive in as a car hop where she delivered food to cars on roller skates. Even when she wasn't working, she loved going roller skating. In her free time, she was known as an accomplished baker and cake decorator.
In 1970, Patricia began working for Ford Motor Company where she assembled automotive parts. She retired after 35 years.
In her free time, she was a part of a volunteer group that monitored CB radio transmissions for the Wayne County Sheriff's department. Where she was known as "SassaFras". Patricia loved to travel and enjoyed flying on a plane with her daughter on a school field trip to Washington D.C. She loved to travel and had aspirations of seeing the country in an RV.
In 1987 she met Darrel Haste and they became life partners sharing more than 30 years together until his passing in 2018.
She was active in the lives of her grandchildren Wesley, William, Stuart, Sabrina, Elizabeth, Kevin, Sara and Jasmine.
Patricia will be missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchild Josiah
Visitation Friday, February 17 from 10AM until time of service at 11AM. All services located at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 Telegraph Rd, Taylor, MI 48180. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery.
