Obituary

Patricia Ann Chacon (nee Russell), lovingly known as Trish, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away on February 16, 2026 at the age of 77. She is survived by her devoted husband, Florencio (Papo) Chacon; her children, Lisa Bojko (Stan), Christy Dalton (Kevin) and David Chacon (Laura); her seven beloved grandchildren, Emily and Michael Bojko, Kayla Leija (Alex) and Zachary Dalton; and Carissa, David Jr., and Bella
Chacon, her brother, Bill Russell, as well as many special nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her siblings, the late Eugene Russell (the late Phyllis), the late Ralph Russell, Jr., and the late Betty Christian.

Trish was born in Cookeville, Tennessee to Ralph and Thelma Russell. Her family moved to the Detroit area when she was just a young girl. Her childhood days were spent playing with her cousins, Shirley, Roberta and Judy. They grew up together and maintained a closeness throughout one another's lives.

Trish met Papo through a mutual friend when they were teenagers. It was love at first sight for Papo, as he told his cousin Miguel, "This is the girl I'm going to marry." His dream was soon realized. They were married, and recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary!

In those early days of marriage, Trish did not have a lot of cooking experience. It took some time and practice, but she was able to master some of Papo's favorite Puerto Rican dishes, like rice with gandules and bacalao with green bananas. Not too shabby for a southern girl.

Trish enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, especially pinochle. It became a weekend tradition which lasted for years. As her family grew, she would get us all together to watch a good movie with a big bowl of popcorn. When baseball season came around, she would cheer on the Tigers like a true fan. Most of her grandchildren played ball, so there were lots of summer days spent at the baseball field until the mosquitos would send everyone home.

Trish was a very soft-spoken, patient woman, who loved her family dearly. She found much joy in spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up. We are so thankful for our time together. We love her with all our hearts.
