Patrick "Pat"
Connelly
April 25, 1939 – July 22, 2025
Patrick Charles Connelly "Pat" passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 22, 2025 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Kay for 60 wonderful years. Loving dad of Michael (Angie) Connelly, and Janet (David) Ploucha. Caring grandpa of Christopher (Alexa) Conelly, Trevor (Shelby) Ploucha, Melissa Ploucha, Brendan McDonald, Marisa McDonald, and Logan McDonald. Pat is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Patrick is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Ethel and his sister Jackie.
Known for his love of fishing, Patrick found his greatest peace with a rod in hand, casting into still waters and waiting patiently for a bite—though for him, the calm was always the real catch. He also had a passion for hunting and scuba diving, always eager for the next adventure, whether it took him deep into the woods or beneath the waves. Nature was his element, and he moved through it with reverence and respect.
When not exploring the outdoors, Pat could often be found with a puzzle in front of him, his mind as active and focused as it was when tracking a deer or scanning the sea floor. He loved golf for its challenge and its tranquility, and he firmly believed that an afternoon nap was one of life's underrated treasures.
One of the simple joys of his life was his weekly tradition of going to the movies with his wife. Rain or shine, they were there—popcorn in hand, sharing stories, laughs, and quiet companionship in the dark of the theater.
One story Pat never tired of telling—always with a smile and a laugh—was from a trip to Las Vegas, where he had his unexpected "star moment." During a David Copperfield show, he was called up on stage to participate. For a man who preferred the background to the spotlight, it was a surreal and unforgettable experience that brought him joy for years to come.
Patrick and Kay always took at least 4 trips a year and loved cruising. Over 57 cruise trips. Cabo San Lucas was his favorite because of fishing. It was a good place for them to go during the winter. 37 trips. He would say they have been around the world 3 times and last month we went to the top of the world, which was the Arctic on a cruise.
Whether waist-deep in a stream, taking an afternoon nap, or laughing with his wife at the movies, Patrick lived life on his own terms—with faith, warmth, and a good dose of humor.
He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.
