DAOUST, M.D., Patrick Henry November 28, 2014, age 89 His was a life fully lived, filled with classical music, art and antiquities, world travel, countless friends and a close, loving family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia A. Daoust; three daughters, Barbara Daoust-Westbrooks (Jeff), Carolyn Daoust (Manfred) and Deborah Daoust (Carey); a brother, James Daoust; and several nephews and nieces. Patrick was born Aug. 8, 1925, in Bay City, MI. He proudly served his country in WWII, graduated from University of Michigan, where he met Patricia, and earned a Doctorate in Medicine at Wayne State University, completing his residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. During a 50-year career, he led a successful radiology practice with offices in Allen Park, Dearborn, and other locations. Patrick and Patricia traveled extensively beginning in the 1950s, occasionally with their daughters. Their favorite destinations included France for the great food and Switzerland for the mountain views. The Daoust family opened their house routinely for musical events, holiday parties, and more, extending their kind hospitality to numerous friends and community members. They actively participated in the artistic life of Dearborn and Detroit, especially in regard to the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra and Detroit Institute of Arts. Patrick led and participated in several food and wine groups, and he and Patricia got together frequently with like-minded enthusiasts for some pretty amazing meals. Patrick was an avid violinist, read everything he could find on WWII, devoured travel books and always loved a good comedy. He still had plans - to travel, drink champagne, and most all, spend time with his beloved wife. He will be sorely missed. Memorial Service Sunday, December 21st at 2:00 pm at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. with memorial gathering 1:00-2:00 pm. www.howepeterson.com
