Paul was baptized at Van Born Baptist Church in Dearborn Heights, MI and later became a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Dearborn, MI. He loved gardening and lawn work, fishing, hunting and boating. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Detroit teams and college football. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren.
On March 4, 1960, he was united in marriage to Lena Fay Merida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Arvel Gray, James Gray, an infant brother, Aaron Gray, Irene Hubbard, Georgia Mills, Hazel Bargo, Jessie Frost and Faye Wallace.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lena Fay Gray of Dearborn, MI; beloved children, Patricia Vander Wall and husband, Mitch, of Loveland, CO, Lisha Clevenger and husband, Michael, of Chelsea, MI, Paula Robertson and husband, Bret, of South Lyon, MI and Jonathan Gray and wife, Kimberly, of Berkley, MI; a sister, Helen Burnett and husband, Martin, of Gray; treasured grandchildren, Lance Clevenger and wife, Claire, Lauren Garvin and husband, Dan, Holly Camponez and husband, Renan, Heather Gowen and husband, Kirby, Anna Vander Wall, Jordan Robertson, Taylor Robertson and wife, Allison, Mackenzie Steffee and husband, Casey, Jacob Robertson and Charlotte Gray; great grandchildren, Reese Robertson, Walter, and Liam Gray Gowen and Arthur Camponez; many loved nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral services were entrusted Knox Funeral Home. He was be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
