PAPPAS, Peter James   September 29, 2018     Age 92

Of Detroit, MI, born January 22, 1926 was the son of the late James and Viola Pappas, and the loving brother of the late Georgia Diamond, Bertha Hensley, and John (Lois) Pappas.  Peter is survived by his children, James (Maryanna), Steven, Rick (Julie Ramirez) Stafford and Michelle (Shawn) Stubbs.  Peter was predeceased by his children, Helen (James) Belcher and Nicholas Pappas.  Peter was the grandfather to 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Peter served in the Army, the Merchant Marines, and Special Services during World War II.  He owned a Coffee House called the Stadium for 42 years in Greek Town. Many people were deeply impacted by Peter's presence in their life.

Funeral: Saturday October 6, In state 9:30am, Service 10:00am, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 707 E. Lafayette Blvd., Detroit.

Visitation: Friday October 5, 1:00pm – 8:00pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 S. Telegraph, Taylor, with Panatda at 7:00pm.

Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
