So, I’ve gone to look for Doug, but where should I start

Our lives together included so many wonderful places and memories, at which one will I find my one and only sweetheart

We first met in Geology class at University of Buffalo, surely that’s where you’ll be waiting

But all I found was the old coat you used to keep my shoes dry from the Buffalo Creek before we started dating

The Army sent you to Germany after we were married, would you meet me at 7 Schiffgasse the apartment where our life together began

Or maybe a favorite vacation spot in the mountains near Garmish is where I would find my Brim man

No luck in Germany, back to the US, my search for you continues in all the places we called home

Kenmore, Dearborn, Fox Run and all the streets and parks we would walk and roam

We went on many memorable trips and vacations, I should see if you will surprise me at one of these,

The porch on Mackinac or Olcott, a baseball field in Iowa, or enjoying St Thomas or Mexico and a warm ocean breeze

And then it comes to me as I’m enjoying one of the many sunsets together, we had shared

Doug is waiting for me at his favorite place, the Fairlane Mansion I was fully prepared

I search the house and its many rooms and then the gardens and all of the ground

After all my looking near and far, Doug is still nowhere to be found

Having visited and looked for you at all our favorite places, I could not find you anywhere

But then I felt your hand in mine and I knew you had been right beside me for this entire wonderful love affair

So now our world is as it should be with the two of us together again

Mom and Dad, let your family know how happy you are with a little wink every now and then

Phyllis was born in East Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 11, 1937, and left us to look for Doug on August 2, 2026. She had four children, Kevin (Kimberlie), Barry (Claudia), Julie (Jeff) Clatterbaugh and Rachel. She is leaving the legacy of those four children along with five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Service will be a family celebration of her life.
