Richard L. Wegienka's Obituary
He joins his wife of 29 years, Patricia, in eternal rest.
He was the beloved father of Jason Farris and Miranda Short.
Caring grandfather to Jason L. Farris, Patricia A. Roderick, Caden A. Farris, Benjamin E. Kmiecik, and Maxwell L. Kmiecik.
Treasured brother to Nancy, Ron, Jill, Robin, Bill, Mary, and Kim.
Cherished son of Skip and Ilene.
Rick was an outdoors-man at heart. He enjoyed fishing, speed boating, and spending time at the family trailer in Coldwater, Michigan. An animal lover through and through, his neighborhood squirrels and birds were very well fed and he relaxed by birdwatching. He'd often tinker with things, even if he never ended up fixing them. Rick always made sure to make time for his grandchildren, he was born to be the very best Pa. He ventured into the life of an entrepreneur and created his own aptly named business, "Mister Rick's Lawn Sprinkler Service and Repair". He made a point to be as self-sufficient as possible, even when he was ill. Rick was an amazing man and a fighter to the very end. He will be missed, but remembered in the hearts of so many.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, April 14th,from 11:00-5:00pm with a funeral at 3:00pm. All services will be located at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral home on 9800 Telegraph.
