Richard Ray Welch  May 17, 1956-October 1, 2025

Richard was the beloved son of the late Richard F. and Gloria (Bloomquist) Welch.   He is survived by his sister Barbara (Richard) Skaggs and brother Jeff Welch, nephews Andrew (Katie Vane) and Peter Skaggs, and nieces Katie Welch and Krissy (Tim) McCarthy , grandnephew Leif Skaggs, as well as cousins and friends.

A graduate of Melvindale High School, Richard also received an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Michigan, Dearborn.  He was a lifelong member of Allen Park Presbyterian Church and served as an usher, played on the men's softball team and participated in the Men's Bible Study.  He was a past president of the Allen Park Jaycees.

Richard was a passionate fan of local sports teams, especially the Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and Michigan football.  In his younger years, he played baseball, softball, basketball, and bowled.  He was a fierce competitor playing cards with his family, especially Texas Hold 'Em.

He adored his nieces and nephews and loved spending time with family, who appreciated his dry sense of humor.  He had many fond memories of childhood Thanksgivings spent with his extended family, especially the annual cousin/uncle football classic.

A Memorial Service will be held November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Allen Park Presbyterian Church, 7101 Park Avenue, Allen Park, Gathering from 10:30 am.
