Rita (Goulet) Mongeon - Rita Rose Mongeon, 93, formerly of Tonawanda, NY died in Riverview, Michigan on June 19, 2015 at Rivergate Terrace. She was born November 8, 1921 in Burlington, VT, the daughter of late Fred L. and Bertha (Bacon) Goulet. She attended Cathedral High School in Burlington, VT. She moved to Tonawanda NY in 1956 where she worked for a number of years at Your Host Restaurant , Colonial House and finished her career working in the cafeteria of Tonawanda High School. She moved to Michigan in 2005 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, playing cards and puzzles. She was predeceased by her husband Omer in 1983. She is survived by her loving children, Sandra (Robert) Williams and James Mongeon both of Allen Park, MI. Tina (Glenn) Merz of Seneca, NY as well as her grandchildren, Robert (Bernadine) Williams, Michael (Catherine) Williams, Milissa (Johnny) DeJongh, Eric Williams, Randy Williams, Renee (Robert) Brooks and Jamie Mongeon as well as seven great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Hilda Fleming of Burlington, VT. She was predeceased by her brothers Lyman and Roy as well as her sister Alma Pierce. Interment will take place at a later date at Mount Olivet cemetery in Kenmore, NY. Visitation Monday June 22, 5:00pm - 9:00pm at the Taylor Chapel of the Howe Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 S Telegraph Road. In State Tuesday June 23, 9:30am with the Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 19624 Wood St, Melvindale Mi.
