Robert "Bob" Bennett  November 22, 2019  Age 67

Loving husband of Valerie "Jeanie" for 22 wonderful years. Dear father of Lanessa Conway (Erick), Robert Cardinal, and Vanessa (Anthony) Graham. Beloved Papa of Kayla, Brandon, Aniessa, Carys, Dominic, and Anthony. Bob will also be missed by many other family members, friends, and especially his two faithful dogs, Darby and Tiggs.

After serving his country in the U.S. Army, Bob worked and retired from the United States Postal Service as a truck driver after 35 years of faithful service. Bob loved driving his trucks and won many awards in competition for his truck driving skills.

Bob was also an avid softball player for almost 60 years. He was honored with the title of "Legend" of Patton Park in Detroit.

Bob was a talented musician as well, playing bass guitar in several bands during his life, earning himself the nickname "Bassman".

It should be known to all that Bob proudly kept the greenest and lushest lawn in Detroit.

But above all of these incredible accomplishments, Bob's greatest pride and joy in life was his family and his dogs.

Visitation at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home Dearborn Chapel, 22546 Michigan Ave. Dearborn, MI 48124, Sunday 2-8pm and Monday 1-8pm. Rosary Monday 6:30pm followed by VFW service. Instate Tuesday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1050 Porter St. Detroit, MI 48226, at 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Army honors to follow the service.
