Robert
Borgman
October 26, 1961 – November 8, 2025
Robert Borgman, known for his unmistakable voice, strong will, and unmatched craftsmanship, passed away on November 8, 2025 at the age of 64.
Born on October 26, 1961 in Detroit Mi, Robert grew into a man whose hands and heart were rarely still. A gifted carpenter and builder, he could turn a pile of wood into something lasting and beautiful—whether it was a finely crafted piece of furniture or his trailer tucked away in the woods at Camp Dearborn. Everything he built carried his trademark precision; he was meticulous to the last detail, and proud of it.
Robert was stubborn in the best way—determined, focused, and unwilling to quit until a job was done right. That determination carried him through every challenge life put in his path.
When he wasn't working with his hands, Robert found joy in the outdoors. He loved the crackle of a bonfire, the quiet of the woods, and the company of nature gathered under the stars. You could always find him where the air smelled of sawdust or smoke, and you could always recognize him by that familiar voice calling out from a mile away.
Robert is survived by his son Stephen (Julia) Borgman. His father Bob Borgman. Grandsons Jacob and Jospeh. His loving partner Mary Joe. Siblings Connie Malicoat and Michael Borgman, who will forever cherish his strength, his stories, and the many things he built—both with wood and with love. He is also survived by many lifelong friends that have become family from Camp Dearborn. He is preceded in death by his siblings Karen Cameron, and Eric Borgman.
Private cremation services have been entrusted to Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
