Robert "Bob" Eatinger passed away June 25 ,2019 at the age of 89. He was the loving husband of his Polish princess, Alice for 60 wonderful years. He was also dear father of Scott (Cheryl) and the late Sharon (Tod) Copacia and step son Ricky. A proud grandfather of Holly, Nicole and Christopher. Bob was also a US Air Force veteran.

Bob was a devoted family man. Through his 28 year career as a line man for Detroit Edison, he would bank his vacation time to spend his summers and falls making memories at Canadian Lakes with friends and family. In the summer he would take the boat out to enjoy water skiing and other activities.

During the fall days, he enjoyed hunting, however, he would never shoot anything, as he loved nature. He used these opportunities to observe the forest come to life and enjoy the peaceful moments taking in the view. After a good nap in the blind it was party time! He would get together with the guys to celebrate a successful day on the hunt. Although he wasn't one to partake in the adult beverages, he enjoyed watching the others have their fun. He looked over his buddies and made sure everyone was taken care of and safe.

It wasn't only during these times that he made sure everyone made it safely home after an evening of fun. He was the protector of everyone in the Byrd Street gang. Their block was the place to be for a good time. If at any time things got out of hand, Bob was there to put a stop to it. He could scold you and teach you a lesson with very few words without yelling or being demeaning. Just ask his son Scott about the time his dad had to tow him home in the cold after a wild time at Camp Dearborn! Bob would have loved to tell you, as he was one of the greatest story tellers.

Bob was a man like no other. His stubborn, yet soft hearted nature gave him the unique quality of making everyone feel loved and cared for, even if he didn't say it out loud. He will be deeply missed by everyone that was lucky enough to have known him.

A 12:00pm funeral mass to celebrate Bob's life will take place June 29, 2019 at St. Constance church in Taylor. Gathering at the church will start at 11:30am prior to the service.
