Robert Alexander Ibbetson age 91 of Dearborn, passed peacefully away April 25, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved Husband of Irene. Loving father of Mary (Frank) Maslowski. Proud grandfather of five fur babies. Caring brother of the late Joseph and the late Mary Jane. Survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob was a devoted, loving husband and father who enjoyed long car rides (adventures), reading, riding his one speed bike to softball games at the park, working puzzles, playing golf, old cars, watching the Tigers and hunting in his earlier years. He especially loved his wife's cooking. Bob was a proud American, always wanting "things made here." He always had a smile on his face and a camera in his hand. He loved to talk to people and make them laugh. He had a special way to make everyone feel loved. He never hesitated to give a helping hand when needed, especially to all his neighbors whom he cherished. Bob will be truly missed by many people in the community, including those who were long time friends made during his career in the Dearborn School System. To this day he would still run into prior students who would greet him with an enthusiastic …."Hey!! Gilligan!" (because of his infamous white floppy hat he was rarely seen without). Along with his white floppy hat, he almost ALWAYS wore one of his fashionable bolos.  They were the only thing he ever collected.

A memorial gathering will take place Tuesday, May 1st, from 3 PM until 9 PM, with a 7:30 PM memorial service, at The Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, Dearborn Chapel.

Memorial donations to the American Heart Association are appreciated and he asks that everybody please be kind and help one another.
