MATKIN, Robert Vernon. Age 86. November 5, 2010. Robert will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Ruth of 64 years. He is the loving father of Lynda Jack Giraud, Pamela the late George Frantum, Robert Sharon, Sheryl Daniel Cash, Ronald Cheryl, and Jeffery. Dear Grandfather of 16 and Dearest Great-Grandfather of 21. Adored Son of the late Joseph and the late Beatrice. Brother of the late Joseph "Bud" Matkin and the late Gloria Anderson. Robert was a life member of American Legion – Taylor Post, VFW, & Knights of Columbus of Taylor. He was active in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. New Jersey as a Gunner's Mate 3rd Class thru the years of January 1943 to February 1946. He is the co-owner and operator of Matkin Printing since 1969. Visitation is Tuesday November 9, 1-9 PM and Rosary at 6:00pm at Howe-Peterson Taylor Chapel. Funeral service will be Wednesday November 10 at St. Alfred Catholic Church, Telegraph Rd., Taylor.
