Rocco DeSantis passed away on September 5, 2018 in Dearborn, MI at the age of 86.

Beloved husband of 58 years of Giuliana, dearest father of Armanda (Bradley) Baughman, Lisa (John) DeMarco, and Elsie (Timothy) Thibodeau. Loving Nonno of Giancarlo, Olivia, Christian, Abigail and Dominic.  He is preceded in death by his brother Giovanni and his sister Vittoria.

Rocco was born in Supino, Italy on September 3rd, 1932. He moved to Maenza, Italy as a teenager and then married in 1960. He immigrated to America in 1966 with his wife and daughter.   Rocco was very proud to have worked for Coca Cola for 28 years, he retired at the age of 62 and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his growing family.   Rocco loved telling stories about his adventures growing up in Italy and the time he spent during his military service as a young man in Italy.

Rocco was always thinking of ways to improve and build things, he engineered two ideas of doing so at the Coca-Cola plant in Detroit saving the company time and money. He received recognition for his contribution and the plant quickly incorporated the process changes.   He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family especially his five beloved grandchildren.   He was a proud member of the Italian American Club of Dearborn.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, with rosary service at 7:00 at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave, Dearborn.

He will lie in state from 9:30am to 10:00am with mass at 10:00 on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 22430 Michigan Ave, Dearborn.

Internment will be at St. Hedwig Cemetery immediately following the mass.
