Roger Grantham, 74, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018. He was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Roger served as a Correction's Officer with the State of Michigan for 18 years. After retirement, he was able to pursue his passion for foreign missions through 8 different trips to China and 1 trip to Brazil. He was accompanied by his wife, Kathy, on many of these missions. He formed lifelong relationships through these journeys, and added to those he considered family.

From Baker, to Correction's Officer to Missionary, Roger lived his life convicted for his love of the Lord, his family and friends.  He didn't know a stranger. From the word hello, he wanted to be your friend and hear your story. His investment in others was his greatest hobby. Roger relished in wanting to help people, whether it meant the money from his wallet or baking pie or cake...... he REALLY liked to bake.  If he knew you, then you had the privilege of eating his homemade pecan pie, strawberry pie, lemon meringue pie or even a pot pie. To know him, was to love him, and it also always meant having a full belly of delicious food, because he loved to feed and care for everyone. His love language was to serve in this way.

The last two years of Roger's life were quite challenging due to his declining health, but he kept his sense of humor all the way to the end. Although he will be greatly missed, we are thankful he is at rest in the arms of Jesus and no longer suffering in the flesh. We rejoice for we know where he is and where we will someday be with him again.

Roger leaves behind his beloved wife Kathy of 47 years; loving children, Rod, Ross (Emily), and Keli (James) Loftis; as well as cherished grandchildren, Blake, Peyton, Carter, Cole, and Aidan.

We love you Papa Bear and we will carry you in our hearts until we meet again.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 2:30PM at Flat Rock Church of Christ located at 24745 Huron River Dr., Rockwood, MI 48173. Memorial gathering begins at 1:30PM until service.
