Raised in Dearborn, Roger grew up in the historic Springwells Park community with eldest brother Barry. Roger spent his elementary school years at Henry Ford's Edison Institute where is mother Edith was once a teacher. They both attended Michigan State University, where Roger was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, ROTC program, and student manager for the MSU football team during their Big Ten and National Championship runs back in 1965 & 1966. Roger loved his time at MSU where he established life long friendships. After graduating in 1967, Roger and Lenice married at the Martha-Mary Chapel in Greenfield Village. He then joined the Army where he served as a 2nd Lieutenant and Captain.

After his military service, Roger worked for the Society of American Florists in Alexandria, VA, and then went back to Dearborn to join the family floral business originally started in 1938 by his father, Harry Miller. Roger then spent the next 26 years building Harry Miller Flowers into one of the largest flower shops in the Metro Detroit area. After his career in the floral industry, Roger turned his creative talents to the sign industry where he purchased Spectrum Signs & Designs in 2002. After 22 years in the sign industry, he decided to retire in 2024.

Roger was active within the community as a member of the Dearborn Rotary Club. He volunteered on many of their fund raising programs, such as Santa Snaps and The Miss Dearborn Pageant, where he was the Stage Manager for all of their productions. He took on the role of Technical Director for Rotary's "Good Company" on Dearborn's Cablevision. This is where he introduced his eldest son Darryl to world of video production, which he now makes his living. Roger served as President of Rotary, received the Paul Harris Fellow, and is an Honorary Lifetime Member.

Roger loved to travel with both family and friends. He and Lenice had fond memories of their trips to Europe, Alaska, and Hawaii. Roger had strong family ties to the East Coast, Maine in particular. Many a summer was spent on shores of Boothbay Harbor, cabining on Southport Island, and boating on the waters of the Atlantic. As a member of the Dearborn Country Club, Roger and family were able to pursue their passion for golf. Roger was fortunate to play the Royal Dornoch course in Scotland as part of a trip with his youngest son Bryce and good friend David Schlaff.

Roger will be remembered as a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many. Roger was creative, generous, and had a great sense of humor. He was always willing to put his skills, talent, and kind heart to serve his community.

The Miller Family will be notifying friends and family of a Celebration of Life for Roger to be held in the summer of 2026.
