Obituary

Ronald Earl Boike passed away on May 22, 2024 at the age of 84.

Dear brother of Nancy Harris. Loving son of The late Arthur & Edna (Brink) Boike.

Ron was born to Arthur & Edna (Brink) Boike, second son on June 5th,1939. He was Baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Taylor, Mi on June 18, 1939. Ron went to school at Fletcher School until the third grade and then to St. John's Lutheran School until 1953 where he graduated from 8th grade. He was confirmed on March 29, 1953 and was in the first class to graduate from Taylor Center High School in 1957. He went on to Michigan State University for his freshman year.

Ron joined the U.S. Air Force on June 23, 1959. He took My Basic Training at Lakeland Air Force Base in Texas. After basic training he went to Amarillo Air Force in Amarillo, Texas. He was sent to 66 Supply Sq Laon France from 1959 until 1962. Ron was also sent to Clinton Sherman Air Force Base in Burns Flat, Oklahoma on December 20, 1963 where he was discharged from the service.

Ron came home and took a computer class. After finishing the class, the Bank of Commonwealth hired him as a computer tech. His next job was with A & E Tool where he would order the parts for the items that needed repair. He was hired at the Taylor Post Office as a Letter Carrier until he retired with 29 years of service at the age of 53. He had his retirement part on January 16, 1993 at V. F. W. Hall 11590 Pine St. in Taylor MI.

He also worked as a salesman for Brookfield Uniforms until he quit to take care of his mother. He was a volunteer at St. John's Lutheran Church & School.

Ron was on the St. John's Board of Christian Education. He was also an Elder as well as the person to place money in the safe.
