Obituary

Rosalie Saye, 91, Taylor Michigan, passed peacefully on March 17, 2026.  Preceded in death by her husbands James Hansford "Bunk" Williams and James Edward "Jimmie" Saye.  Sister to the late Robert "Bob" Hardy (Betty) and the late Janice Mathews (the late Frank).  Loving mother to Jim, Carol (the late Donell), Claudia (Tim), and Kenny.  Beloved grandmother to the late Ryan Ograyensek, Elizabeth Abshire (Shaun), Meaghan Ograyensek (Chris), Kenna Scherret (Nick), and Klayton Williams.  Great-grandmother to Luke, Ashlynn, and Colson.

Born February 26, 1935 in Pratt, West Virginia to Mary Hartzel Hardy and Claude Terrence Hardy, Rosalie spent her younger years in elementary rhythm band and was a proud girl scout.  She attended Old Kanawha Baptist Church in Pratt, and graduated from East Bank HS in 1952.

Marrying Bunk young brought her many years of adventure, as they briefly lived with family in North Carolina before moving to Michigan.  Her adventures took her on the road as she would join Bunk on the occasional long haul trucking trip, and the family spent much time at their cabin in Mio.  With Jimmie, her adventures continued as they would spend time on Ford Lake in their boat.

Rosalie was an avid piano player, playing since she was a young girl and enjoyed being the pianist for Immanuel Baptist Church, where she also sang in the praise choir.  Not only a piano player, but a music lover, Rosalie could often be found listening to anything from classical to praise and worship, to Elvis, to Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton.

Rosalie was a woman of many talents who loved writing, reading (especially her Bible), calligraphy, poetry, art, flowers, gardening, and decorating for the holidays.  It was rare to find her without a pen in her hand and a fresh manicure.  Rosalie had many pets throughout the years, doting on her precious Queenie, Prissy, Abby, and Andrew almost as much as she did her family.

A warm heart and a tender soul, Rosalie will most be remembered for helping and caring for others.  She was loving, kind, gentle, and soft spoken, but always knew how to make you feel heard.  Determined to never have a favorite, everyone always had all of her love.  Her relationship with Christ brought her through the many joys and trials of her life.  Her favorite verses are now bringing us through this difficult time as we remember to "Be still and know that I am God".  Her loving heart and smile will be missed, though through wonderful memories she will be with us always.
