Obituary

RoseMarie Mulka at the age of 91 passed away peacefully at her home in Taylor MI. On February 10, 2024.

RoseMarie (Siecinski) Mulka was born to the late Zygmunt and Anna (Durecki) Siecinski. RoseMarie was born in Detroit, MI. on September 7, 1932. Her journey led her from Rose City to Rogers City, where she met the love of her life, Edward Mulka. They married on December 1, 1951, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church and together they built a life centered around faith and family.

Transitioning from a humble upper flat in Royal Oak to Hazel Park, RoseMarie and Edward faced life's challenges hand in hand. With three children and a fourth on the way, they settled in Taylor in 1956.

Their family flourished to include eleven children - six daughters and five sons. She tirelessly cared for her family, sewing her children's clothes, cooking hearty meals, canning fruits and vegetables, even baking 20 loaves of bread every Thursday. (Each teacher got a loaf of fresh bread).

When the youngest started school a new journey began working at Oakwood Hospital for the next 30 years.

As she balanced her roles as caregiver and provider, she kept her mind sharp as a voracious reader of news (currant events) church teachings & politics .

Her door was always open to her extended family and she embraced her role as a nurturing matriarch, offering shelter and love to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A devout Catholic, RoseMarie found solace in prayer. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Taking comfort in her daily rosary, praying one for each child whenever the need arises. (Which was often)

In her later years (at 80), RoseMarie embraced technology; using her iPad to stay connected with her family and keep up with the world around her. "Everyone on my Facebook is my friend " she would often say.

RoseMarie's life was defined by her humility, her unwavering commitment to her family, and her steadfast faith. Though she may have felt she never did enough, her impact on those around her was immeasurable. In her passing, RoseMarie leaves behind a family deeply rooted in her values, a testament to the mark she has left on this world. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

RoseMarie is survived by her 11 children, Anna (Jerry) McGrath, Michele (& Larry) Ulman, Cheryl (Rick) Walters, Edward (Sue Laski) Mulka, Madonna (Kirk II) Tooley, Matthew (Gerardine Reeber) Mulka, Marianna (James) Hillyer, Christopher (Debbie Walters) Mulka, Jerome (Kathleen Sidebottom) Mulka, Zygmunt (Michelle Ambrose) Mulka, and Leonette (Matthew) Oaks; 36 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 2 great- great- grandchildren, one sister Rita Woloszyk; and two brothers Leo Siecinski, Ken Siecinski.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Mulka; father and mother Zygmunt and Anna Siecinski; brothers Frank, Watson and James Siecinski; sister Dorothy Flewelling; two grandsons Zygmunt Mulka and Charles Mulka; and granddaughter Kim (McGrath) Fecker.
