Ruby Mae (Eyer) Bejester, 95, of Dearborn Michigan, passed away on September 9, 2016.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2016 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Howe Peterson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 also at Howe Peterson. A procession and short gathering will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia.
Ruby was born in Duncan's Bridge Missouri on February 3, 1921. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri.
Ruby was married to Joseph Bejester in 1947; they were married 47 years before he passed in 1994.
Ruby was a teacher in a one room school house where she taught 8 grades at the same time. During World War II she was a riveter at Douglas Aircraft where she riveted C47 transport planes. She held the position of Deputy City Clerk for the city of River Rouge. She also was a substitute teacher in Dearborn Heights. She enjoyed reading, cooking, dancing and gardening. She and her husband ran a successful business, Bejester Decorating, that was a top rated service for many years in Dearborn. She was also actively involved in the Dearborn Senior club and a dedicated member of the depression glass group.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Annette Nichols and her husband Gibson; niece Elizabeth (Beth Ann) Hardt of Columbia, Missouri; and the rest of her family, friends and neighbors.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, parents, William and Mabel (Grace) Eyer of Moberly, Missouri; as well as her sister and her sister's husband, Irene and Roy Willey of Columbia, Missouri.
