Ruby
Todoroff
December 17, 1931 – March 13, 2022
Ruby Jean Todoroff nee Snellgrose
12/17/1931 - 03/13/2022
Born in Leachville Arkansas to Dolly and Coy Snellgrose, Ruby Todoroff lived a long life full of experiences undreamed of as a child. It wasn't until she started reading that she knew there was a bigger world than that of small town Arkansas.
Ruby graduated from Leachville High School, the first in her family to get a diploma. After high school she joined the Air Force, which opened up her world. She served during the Korean War and attained the rank of Staff Sargent. It was in the service where she met her husband, George, who she built a life with. Together they had four children and made their home in Westland and Dearborn MI, along with a condo in Dunedin FL for the winter months.
Ruby had two main joys in her life: family and golf. She was a loving and involved mother, always active in her children's lives. In her 40's Ruby learned to play golf, which changed her life. She traveled the world, playing at some of the best courses, always one of the best dressed women, on and off the golf course. Ruby loved shopping for colorful, out of the ordinary clothes and shoes.
As her children married and had children, Ruby relished the role of being "Grandma Ruby." Her grandchildren loved and adored her, and as they got older they really appreciated her sense of fashion. She was proud to become a great grandma as well.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband George and grandchildren Rhianon and Thomas. She will be missed by her survivors, children George (Susan), Molla, Tom (Ellie), James (Kim), grandchildren Jessica, Amanda, Justin, Kaitlyn, Nadia, Owen, Nicholas, Isabel, Gordon, Val and Iona. Also great grandchildren Jaylyn, Kaylee and Ben.
Visitation at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20, 10am - 12pm. The family will share a eulogy at 11:30am.
