Ruth Simpson, age 89, passed away peacefully at home May 2, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Henry Simpson.
Proud mother of Mary (Elton) Moore, Kathy (John) Despotis, Thomas Shinn, Brenda Botz, and Charles (Mary) Hanner.
Dear grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of many.
Last of many loving siblings.

Ruth lived a life full of vigor and love with many varying facets. She retired from her career at Sam's Club at the impressive age of 80 years old. In her down time, she enjoyed a puzzling wordsearch or her favorite pastime: relaxing on her front porch with a steamy cup of coffee watching the world go by. She was even known to act as an unofficial neighborhood watchwoman! One of her most famous recipes was for cornbread, no one can make it quite like she could.

More than anything, Ruthie adored her family. She was a best friend to her children and doted on her grandkids. But it extended further than that. She was everyone's grandma. Ruth would do anything for the people she loved, unless you crossed her. She could be a firecracker if she had to be.

Ruth will be remembered and missed for so many things. Her compassion and heart, joyous sense of humor, and wisdom and intelligence.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 5 from 2-8PM. Funeral celebration Saturday, May 6 at 11AM. All services located at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 Telegraph Rd, Taylor MI 48180. Interment at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery to follow.
