Petlichkoff, Sam, Age 97

Beloved husband of the late Olga (Dasko).  Survived by 5 beautiful children, Christina (Rick) Jones, Maria, Andrea, Claudia (Mark) Scarbrough, and David (Cheryl).  Loving Grandfather of Zacharias, Anna Scarbrough, Alexander, Amanda Kumm and the late Elaina.

Sam was a proud graduate of Fordson High School and reminisced fondly about his accomplishments participating in track as a sprinter where he won many races and metals.   Sam supported his country by serving in the Coast Guard during WWII.  Sam was a pillar in the Dearborn community serving 37 years on the Dearborn Police Force.  He was always helping others, he was a founding member of the Police Officers Association of Dearborn, a member of the Dearborn Exchange Club, a member of the Dearborn Goodfellows, the longest serving board member of the Fordson Varsity Alumni Club and he volunteered his time to many organizations to support his beloved city.

Sam was born in Dearborn and having lived his entire life in Dearborn, he was the longest continuous living resident of the city at the time of his passing.

Visitation will take place Friday March 25th 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home.

Please join us in gathering at the church at 11:30 a.m. March 26th for the services to honor Sam's life, services will start at 12:00 p.m. and will be located at St. Clement Orthodox Church; 19600 Ford Rd., Dearborn, 48128.  Entombment to follow funeral services at Woodmere Cemetery, Detroit.

Memorial contributions will go to support Ukrainian refugees in honor of Sam's loving late wife.  Contributions will be made through the Exchange Club of Dearborn, 23400 Park Ave., Dearborn 48124.
