Obituary

Sandra Ann Elliot was born on August 14, 1946 in Detroit Michigan to parents James and Elsie (Reaume) Willingham, and is survived by her only sister, Nancy Siwik (Mike)

Ann married the love of her life, Joe Elliott on October 14, 1976. Joe passed in February 2024 and left a hole in her heart. She carried a picture of the two of them in her pocket and looked at it several times a day. Ann and Joe were married for forty eight years and were loving parents to two daughters Nancy Ann "Jo" Elliott (Wayne) and Kelly Elizabeth Elliott (John). and step-son Patrick Elliott (Dusty).  Ann was the proud nana of twelve:  Lauren, Nathan, Nicholas, Cody, Brooklyn, Tyler, Wayne Jr., Joey, Heidi, Megan, Destiny and Joe.

Ann was happiest when she was surrounded by family and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.  Bonnie Wright (David) and Jimmy Siwik (Kimberly). She was loved by her many great nieces and nephews including Courtney, Gisele, Owen, Vivien, Luke, Raquel, and Dylan.

Ann graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1972 with a Bachelorette Degree in Science and Education.  She received her Master of Arts Degree from Eastern Michigan in 1980 in Guidance and Counseling.  She worked as a counselor for Drug and Alcohol Abuse until her retirement in 2014. She and Joe owned Spinners Car Wash, and were co-owners of Jedtco Corporation.

You cannot think of Ann without thinking of antiques.  She was an avid collector and her house was a testament to her love of history and art. She especially enjoyed sharing her "farmhouse" with friends and family and hosted dinners, parties and fundraisers at her home.  Her "witches" party was an annual event that got bigger each year.  Ann grew up in the 50's and it was an era that she held close to her heart. She hosted 50's parties and she and her life long friend of 76 years, Elizabeth Whitney (Libby), would dance to the rock and roll sounds of Elvis and the Big Bopper.

Ann loved to garden and had a gorgeous back yard filled with flowers all spring, summer and fall.  The only hobby that Ann loved more than antiques and gardening was shopping.  She took shopping trips to the southern states to find antiques and to northern Michigan to find flowers and fruits.  She went to Chicago to shop the Miracle Mile and never missed an opportunity to shop for anything Christmas or Halloween.

Ann was devoted to her family, friends clients and to her community.  For over 20 years she served her community as a Rotarian.  She was President of the Westland Rotary and hosted many events.  She was a "mom" to several exchange students from South America.  She had a big heart for anything with four legs and had fur-babies of some kind her entire life.

Ann passed away on Saturday afternoon; March 29, 2025 surrounded by family and is now at peace with her mom, dad, Joe and those that she loved who left before her.  She will be missed forever.
