Saviour "Sam" Mangion

Saviour "Sam" Mangion, Age 91, of Dearborn passed away on 23 May 2026. Born in Qormi, Malta, it was his dream to emigrate to the United States, and in 1967 his dream came true. He was sponsored by the United Auto Workers as a skilled electrician and began working at Rouge Steel in Dearborn. He and his young family proudly became United States citizens in 1973.

Saviour was preceded in death nine years ago by his beloved wife Iris Mary. His family takes great comfort in knowing that they are finally reunited. He is survived by his children, Carmen (Rich) and John (Kelly); and his cherished grandchildren, Joshua and Olivia. He leaves behind his much-loved brothers, Fr George and Karmnu; his step-siblings, Joseph (Rose), Fr Gino (RIP), Nazzareno (Rose), Carmen, Gaetana, John RIP (Liliana), Ursula (RIP), Sebastian (Mary) and Sr Maria OP; his in laws Evelyn (RIP), Maurice, Walter, Margaret, Marianne and Joseph, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, 1 June 2026 from 3:00PM to 8:00PM at the Dearborn Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave, Rosary Recited at 7:00pm.

A funeral mass will take place on 2 June at 10:00AM (instate 9:30AM) at the Allegria Village Chapel located on 15101 Ford Road, Dearborn.
