Scott Irving Ryder died at home on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Ann Arbor at the age of 66 years.

Scott is survived by his siblings, Suellen Tobe of Chicago, Barbara (Ralph) Iscaro of Winterville, NC, and Barry (Deborah) Ryder of Ann Arbor; nieces and nephews: Jody (Steve), Samantha and Megan Ayers of Winterville, NC; Tara (Gary), Valerie, Kyle, and Natalie Gantert of Chicago, and Kelly Katchmar of Jacksonville, FL, special friends, and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy and Albert Ryder.

Scott was born on Jan 21, 1952, in Garden City, and grew up in Dearborn. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1970 as a football star, then earned a BS degree in 1977 from Eastern Michigan University. He worked many years at the DTW airport in many capacities, retiring in 2016 as an airline ramp agent/baggage handler.

He was generous, fun, well traveled, and passionate about his spiritual journey. He always enjoyed conversations about sports, and those he spoke with came away with a renewed sense of the need we all have for inner peace.
