Sharon L Cooksey of Lincoln Park passed away on May 29 ^th at the age of 79. Sharon was born in Detroit to Helen and Fred Cooksey in 1942. She was raised in Lincoln Park and attended Henry Ford Community College. Sharon loved to travel and explore the world including Italy, Germany, Scotland, Norway, Britain, and France. She enjoyed spending time with friends, attending concerts, festivals, and parties. She also enjoyed golfing and watching Hallmark movies.  She enjoyed a fun and fulfilling career with J Walter Thompson in Detroit and retired with the nickname "Singing Sharon Cooksey". Sharon was an active member of the Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir. Sharon is well known for her cheerful spirit and passion for bears. She often referred to herself as "Sharbear". She is predeceased by her mother, Helen Zymboly Cooksey, and her father Fred Cooksey. She is survived by her sister Karen E Stewart and best friend Chris Nelson.
