Shirley Mae Knudsen (Zorn)

Shirley, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at her daughter's home on December 30, 2020 at the age of 90. The eldest daughter of Homer and Helen Zorn she grew up in Detroit where she met the love of her life Ronald in high school who she married in 1948 and shared 72 years of marriage until his recent passing on December 20, 2020. She & Ron raised four children and enjoyed family get-togethers with them and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren always cooking her family's favorite dishes to bring along with her. Including but not limited to stuffed cabbage, rigatoni, boiled dinner, macaroni and cheese and of course her yummy desserts. Shirley was the creative one in the family with all her love of the Arts, painting both oil and watercolor pictures in her younger years and making beautiful handmade quilts in her later years. Her and Ronald love summers spent up north at their cottage. Playing cards and bingo with family and friends. Enjoyed shopping for antiques and traveling to Las Vegas with Ron. She will be greeted back where she belongs and welcomed by her parents Homer and Helen, brother Richard, daughter Nancy and most importantly by husband Ron. And…. having had only a short break.... he will most certainly be looking forward to hearing "Ron, Ron" from his "Shirl". Both together again always and forever. Shirley is survived by her sons Robert and Ronald, daughter Lori (Kerry), six grandchildren Alicia, Jeremy (Lesley) Josh (Erica), Brian, Kevin (Jess) and Michelle, and eight great-grandchildren Ally, Lexi, Lily, Riley, Henry, Anna, Hudson and Everly arriving in June 2021 as well as her sister Sharon and several nieces and nephews.
