Shirley Ann Nichols passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Loving mother of Kristen (Kenneth) Griffin, Karen (John) Stewart, and Thomas (Marybeth) Nichols. Proud grandmother of Lindsay, Tommy, Kyle, Ashleigh, Kelsey, J.T., Ryan, and Colin. Great grandmother of Leo, Jack, and Connor. Shirley also leaves behind her lifelong friends, Tootsie Samosiuk and Camille Alawan.

Shirley was a proud co-owner and operator of Nichols Ski and Snowboard Shop in Dearborn and Waterford for nearly 70 years, along with her husband, Tom, and 3 children. It was almost a given that she enjoyed hitting the slopes with her family in her free time. Along with skiing, Shirley also loved to play golf and tennis. She was an avid member of several garden clubs and the Fairlane Club.

Shirley was a lifetime resident of the Dearborn area, graduating from Fordson High School and creating a loving family home in Dearborn Heights with Tom, where she resided for over 60 years.

A visitation will be held at the Dearborn location of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday, May 17, 10:30am – 12pm. A celebration of life service will take place at 12pm at the Funeral Home. Private interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit.
