Swancutt, Shirley nee Dancey January 12, 2010. Age 83 of Dearborn. Beloved wife of Donald Swancutt for 60 years. Loving mother of Bruce Swancutt Judy, Nancy Neff Ted, Barb Wiese Kurt and Doug Swancutt Candy. Also survived by 10 grandchildren: Derek, Stacey, and Jessica Swancutt; Andrea, Matt, and Heather Neff; Bryan, Brittany, and Chelsea Wiese; Drew Swancutt. Preceded in death by grandson Michael Swancutt. Graduated from Albion College, where she was affiliated with the Delta Gamma sorority. She was an avid gardener and supporter of the arts. Past president of the Village Herb Associates at Greenfield Village, the Delta Gamma Zeta House Corp. at Albion, the Michigan Herb Associates, the Detroit West Suburban Alumnae of Delta Gamma, and the Herb Study Group of the Dearborn Historical Society. Visitation Friday 4-9 pm at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave., Dearborn. Funeral service Saturday 11 am at First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn, 600 Brady, Dearborn. Visitation at the church begins at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Shirley's name to the Michigan 4-H Foundation to support the 4-H Children's Garden at Michigan State University or the Zeta House Corp. at Albion College.
