Beloved husband, father, and "Pop", Stephen "Steve" Short, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on June 3rd, 2023 at the age of 71. Survived by his wife Shelley, son Phil (Lisa) and their children Phillip and Lucy, and daughter Melissa (Alex).

Steve was born in Harlan, Kentucky, the son of the late Ester "Cotton" Short and Lucy Nelle Short and raised in Lincoln Park, Michigan. An active member of the community and his church, First Baptist Church of Lincoln Park, Steve was a positive influence on everyone he knew. He
enjoyed traveling with his family, playing with his grandchildren, going to his lake house, and playing in his hockey league.

Visitation will be held at the J.L Peters funeral home in Lincoln Park on Tuesday, June 6th from 4:00-8:00pm. The funeral will be at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Park on Wednesday, June 7th, in-state at 12:30 pm with funeral services at 1:00 pm. There will be a procession to Michigan Memorial Cemetery to follow.
