Steve
Malseed
November 24, 1956 – March 23, 2024
Steve was born Steven Warren Malseed to Donald Warren Malseed and Evelyn Ruth Malseed nee Curott, November 24, 1956. Growing up in Detroit, at age 12, he began to learn and play the guitar which began a lifelong love of music. The family moved to Fraser MI. in 1968, where Steve, during his high school years, was very athletic and excelled in baseball and then hockey. After graduating high school, he found a job with the City of Harper Woods which afforded him the chance to work with his beloved music, sometimes solo, but mostly with bands, which a few are: Slammer, Radio Babies, and Heavens Gate. He spent these years immersed in his music; writing, recording, and performing.
In his middle years, he started his own OTR business, owning a truck, and buying his home in Taylor Michigan where he has lived for the last 35 years. After retirement, he enjoyed his pool full time, loving to have friends over to play volleyball, which was a must.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his loving partner, Kimi Oren, sister Patti McEachern, brother Donald (Elizabeth) Malseed. He will be missed by his many friends, nieces and nephews and his cousins from the Curott and Malseed families.
After cremation, you will find Steve at his home in Taylor, at his favorite place, on the patio.... Poolside.
