Susanne (Sue) Kostelnik (Brondos) passed away on March 18th, 2021 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of George (deceased 2009) for 68 years, loving mother of Karen S. Rogers (Paul), Tim Kostelnik (Kim) beloved grandmother of Jason Arndt (Kristen), Jessica Fergin (Derek), David Kostelnik (Becky), and Emily Crosby (Sean), great-grandmother of Phoebe, Abbeigh, and Brecken Arndt, Allison and Andrew Fergin, Lucas and Lily Kostelnik. Predeceased by loving sister Mary (John) Mertus, brothers Rev. Michael (Amelia) Brondos and Rev. Andrew (Elizabeth) Brondos and survived by loving sister Ann (Ralph) Jackson. Sue leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
During WWII, Sue worked at the Willow Run Air Force School for four years while her husband George served as a decorated Sgt. in the U.S. Army for the 132 nd Field Artillery Battalion of the 36 th Texas Division. While raising two children Sue also worked first as a volunteer Gray Lady at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan and then as a Medical Assistant on the OB/GYN floor. For 30 years Sue worked as a Medical Assistant in the OB/GYN offices of Dr's. Hardy, Turner, Solberg and Jewell until her retirement at the age of 72. Mom will be greatly missed.
There will be a funeral service on Monday March 22nd, 2021 at 11am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with a 10am in-state. Entombment at Glen Eden Cemetery to follow.
