May 3, 1931 – June 28, 2020
Ted Schave passed away on June 28th at the age of 89. He was born in Detroit, Michigan May 3rd, 1931 to Ted and Norma Schave. Following in his father's foot steps, he became a truck driver and later took up a love for magic. In October of 1973, he married his beloved wife Mary Jo where they have resided in Lincoln Park since. Ted had a passion for entertainment and always made a lasting impression. For the past almost thirty years he has spent his time performing magic at Red Robin for multiple generations. His crowds continue to come back because of their love for him. He enjoyed life on stage. When he wasn't entertaining he was spending time with family and friends. Ted was a kind hearted, social man that touched the lives of many. His sense of humor and attitude always brought a smile, some laughs and an occasional eye roll. His Wednesday gatherings with the Breakfast Club were always an important part of his week. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming and being outside. Ted was not only a magician but loved to sing and play his various musical instruments. He was an avid member of his church, Christ the Good Shepherd were he cantered for years. Ted will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Norma Schave, sister Charlotte Harris and grandson Christopher Julien. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo Schave, son Michael (Peggy) Schave, son Eric (Rockie) Schave, daughter Sue (Doug) Harmon, daughter Kim (Ron) Orman. Blended family daughter Laura Eldredge, daughter Lynn (Gary) Julien and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren all whom he adored.
Funeral arrangements by JL Peters Funeral Home, 3880 Fort Street, Lincoln Park, MI 313-928-6500. Visitation Thursday, July 2nd 1pm-8pm with Scripture service at 6pm. In-state Friday, July 3rd 11am-12pm at Christ the Good Shepherd, 1540 Riverbank, Lincoln Park, MI.
