Terry Rene
Trimble
August 16, 1964 – August 29, 2023
Trimble, Terry Rene - Age 59, of Flat Rock, MI, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Kirby Church, 2773 Will Carleton Rd., Flat Rock.
Terry was born August 16,1964 in Anchorage, AK, the daughter of MSgt. Berlie and Inell Henry. When Terry was a toddler, Mr. Henry moved his family back to his hometown of Swainsboro, GA after he retired from the Army. Terry was a 1981 graduate of Swainsboro High School. She attended the Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, TN where in her first year she met, fell in love with and married Rev. Michael Trimble on April 2, 1983 at her home church in Swainsboro. Soon after, the newlyweds moved to Beaufort, NC where Michael assumed associate pastoral duties under the leadership of Rev. Earl Sutton.
The Trimble family made a few career stops, including Dunn & Washington, NC and a camp director position in eastern Kentucky. Finally, God led the Trimbles to Kirby Church in the Detroit metropolitan area where they have served faithfully since the fall of 1993. While Terry has held a variety of jobs and positions through the years, she was most prominently a home maker and pastor's wife. Her first love was Jesus Christ, followed by her home, followed by her love of the Church. She fulfilled these roles with an inspiring amount of dignity, love and joy. As a result of this admiration, Terry has directly and indirectly influenced and mentored women around the world through her life.
Amongst the many things Terry—commonly referred to as "Miss Terry" or "Mama Ter"—was known for was her hospitality and her sweet southern demeanor. She always had a friendly smile, warm personality and ability to connect people and make them feel loved. "She lit up a room when she walked in" is how many described her. She was a lover of flowers, photography, sweet tea, music, a good party and anything that had to do with her three grandchildren who gave her her most favorite title of all: Maja.
Surviving are: her husband and soulmate, Michael, who together celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year; her children, Benjamin, Byron and Blake; two daughter-in-laws Hannah (Byron's wife), Daniella (Blake's wife); four grandchildren Emma Kate, Everly, Elliott and Eliza (Byron's children); Sister Jill Landing; Niece Tifani Pool, her husband Scot and son Ellis; Nephew John Landing, his wife Sara and son James. Mother-in-law Geneva Trimble, Sister-in-law Karen Trimble, her sons Timothy and Christopher and their wives Jessica and Emily, respectively; great nieces Caitlyn, Abigail and Delaney (Timothy's children); Brother-in-law Donald, his wife Stephanie and son Donovan and daughter Dylan.
Miss Terry was loved by all. She most loved being a Christ follower, pastor's wife, having people in her home, praying for others, friendships, being married to Mike, a mother to her boys and perhaps most of all, being a Maja.
