Thomas Anthony Cooney, of Taylor Michigan, passed away on October 3, 2020 at the age of 81.

Born February 6, 1939 at Harper Grace Hospital in Detroit. Tom was one of three children (Delores and Ray) of Thomas and Marion Cooney. Tom is survived by his wife Donna Cooney, son Brian Cooney, Erika Guerriero (John), Step daughters, Tammy Tollon (Jamie), Katherine Ralston (Ralph), six grand children, Christopher And Brianne Cooney, James Christian and Lt. Aaron Tollon, Avery and Riley Ralston and Great Grandson Ryker Cooney.  Tom was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Marian Cooney, and siblings, Delores and Ray.

Tom served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman where he received medals for good conduct, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) and Marksmanship (Pistol).

Tom was loved by all that knew him. Friends often referred to him as Mr. Wonderful because of his kind, generous nature, integrity and good humor. His family referred to him as "Superman" because of his incredible strength, courage and unbelievable perseverance.

Tom enjoyed working in his yard, spending time with family, University of Michigan Football and tailgating.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 8, from 1:00PM until 9:00PM with a rosary at 7:00PM at the Taylor Chapel of Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 Telegraph Rd.

Funeral mass at 10:00AM (instate 9:30AM) on Friday, October 9th, at Our Lady of the Angels located at 6442 Pelham Rd. in Taylor.

Burial at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
