Timothy Joseph Barrie was born on September 29, 1950 in Dearborn, Michigan. He graduated Sacred Heart High School in 1968 and went on to get his Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He received his Juris Doctorate from Michigan State College of Law.

Tim's law career grew from real estate law, to international contract law and he eventually devoted his time to helping mentally ill or elderly patients who needed a passionate advocate. His career allowed him to spend time living in Brazil, Thailand, and other international cities pairing his love of travel, art and law.

All that knew him will be first to mention his humor and quick wit. Loving Father of Todd (Karen) Barrie and Diana (Clinton) Shattuck. Grandfather to grandchildren he was ever proud of: Kate, Megan, Hayden and Clinton. His love, support, humor and deep soothing voice will be greatly missed as we face the future without him.

He was the son of Violet Joy (Calnan) and Henry Robb Barrie. He was one of five brothers: Michael (Vicki), Paul (Marym) and was preceded in death by his brothers Patrick, Philip and Brian.

Timothy passed away after a brief illness surrounded by family members.
