MICHALAK, Timothy J. October 10, 2010, age 65 Beloved husband of Anne Marie. Dear father of Alison Palmer Capt. Daniel, U.S. Army. Loving brother of Diane Cheetam the late Tom, Gloria Mehall William and Valarie Wheeler Rob. Also survived by 5 nieces and nephews and the late Ken. Tim taught at Detroit Southwestern High School for 31 years specializing in Marketing Education. He also taught at Monroe Community College, Detroit College of Business and taught alcohol awareness classes for ETRS for many years. He was Treasurer and Administrative Assistant for the Detroit Federation of Teachers for many years. Tim participated in clinical trials for brain tumors that resulted in the approval of a drug by the FDA that is now extending thousands of lives. He was an avid reader and traveler, loved music and sailing, was dedicated, inspiring and was dearly loved by his students, family and friends. Funeral Mass Friday 11 am from St. Anselm Catholic Church, 17650 W. Outer Drive, Dearborn Heights, 48127. Instate from 10:30 am. Visitation Wednesday 2-9 pm and Thursday 12-9 pm with Rosary at 7 pm from the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. Interment Mt. Kelly Cemetery.
