Toni Renee Bess was  born to Henry Gardner and Jacqueline Brooks  on November 4, 1962, in River Rouge, MI.  She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Gardner, brother, Andre Bess, and grandmother, Hazel Sears.

Toni worked as a beloved cook at Meadowbank Schools for over 20 years  while also caregiving for her grandmother, Hazel. Her favorite past-times included gardening, hosting family gatherings, and tending to indoor plants. Toni treasured her friends and family more than anything and managed to leave a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Toni leaves to cherish her memory: partner, Earl Folks I; Son, Maurice (Danika) Folks; mother, Jacqueline Brooks; siblings, Fawn Bess-Keeth, Janeal Brooks, and Adrian Lamont (Marsha) Wells; alongside nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends.
