Obituary

Tony Lerini passed away on August 8, 2021 at the age of 101. He was born in Supino, Italy on April 28, 1920 and emigrated to the United States through Ellis Island and onto Aliquippa, Pennsylvania in 1935.

Tony ventured out on his own to Dearborn, Michigan and secured employment at the Ford Motor Company Rouge Plant in 1940. When World War II broke out, Tony was transferred to Willow Run as part of the team that built bombers in support of the war effort.

While supporting the war effort, Tony met the beautiful Mary Faiola. They were married on May 1, 1943. After the war, Tony returned to the Ford Rouge Plant. He worked there until his retirement in 1975.

Tony and Mary raised three beautiful daughters; Christine (Lui), Natalie (Gajewski), and Felicia (Redinger).  The family blossomed to include five wonderful grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

In retirement, Tony became an avid golfer and a collector of eclectic items. He gave his time and help to his family and friends. Tony loved making pasta, wine, and sausage. When visiting Tony at home, the visits always started out with an "eye opener" or two. He loved to have company over to share a glass of wine and beer and to have a meal together.

Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and daughter, Christine.

And so, a chapter in our lives has come to a close. You will always be loved, remembered and cherished.
