Obituary

Velma (Everett) Hodgins, 95, of Dearborn, died February 16.  She was the widow of Leslie Hodgins.

Born in Onida, South Dakota, Velma was the daughter of Edna and Roy Everett.  She graduated high school in Pierre, South Dakota and Dakota Wesleyan University.  She taught school in Orient, South Dakota for three years, before moving to Michigan, where she worked in the offices of the Detroit Leland Hotel and later in the medical offices of Dr. Daniel Stiefel.

Velma was a long-time active member of Littlefield Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Miriam Circle and served as a Deacon.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Janet Hodgins, and her niece, Janet Lewis, her Littlefield Church family, and many friends.  She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie, her parents, and her sister, LaVer.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 3, at 11:00 am, at Littlefield Presbyterian Church, at 7560 Littlefield Boulevard, in Dearborn.

Memorial donations may be made to Littlefield Presbyterian Church or the Michigan Humane Society.
