Victoria (Vicky)  McBride

Victoria McBride (Vella) passed away peacefully on June12, 2023 at the age of 76. She is survived by 3 children, Dawn McBride, Tracy Nycz and Melissa McBride; 2 grandchildren, Dylan and Ethan Nycz, brothers James and Dan (Connie)Vella; sisters Carmen (Victor) Navarrette, Doris Doute, and Maryann (Sal) Distefano, sister-in- law Joan Vella, and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Denis McBride, mother, Mary Vella, father, Paul Vella, brothers Charles, Vincent and Joseph Vella and sister-in law Sylvia Vella.

Victoria was known for always wanting to help all in need.  She was tenacious when it came to ensuring the happiness of her family and those she cared for. Above all else, she loved being a mother, wife and especially a grandmother. Victoria had a passion for reading and sharing her love of books with all around.  She took her passion to her assisted living facility and created a library where she could share her love of books with her fellow neighbors.  Victoria also shared a soft spot for her 3 great grand puppies, Bernice, Jameson and Margot.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm – 8:00pm Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Howe Peterson Funeral Home in Taylor, Michigan. Catholic Funeral Mass will be held 10:00am Friday, June 16, 2023, at Holy Redeemer Church in Detroit, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, please send any donations in care of Fish in Loaves Food Pantry in Taylor, MI.  Victoria spent many years volunteering time here helping those that were less fortunate.
