Violet Corine Hall was born in Emenince, MO on June 14, 1922. Astonishingly, her parents were born in the 1800's! She moved to Detroit when she was 2, then moved to TN at age 4, living in the country 15 miles from the nearest town of Paris. She remained in TN until age 19, when she moved to Detroit.

She finished the 8th grade and didn't go to high school because they didn't have money for clothes and books. However, she was fully prepared to help her children with their homework though. She got her GED diploma in her 60's with straight A's. Violet & Carlton married at Gilead Baptist Church of Detroit, where they were both members. They spent 3 years in Kentucky before moving to their home in Taylor in 1957.

She worked at various jobs such as a Rosie Riveter on bomber planes at the Willow Run Ford Plant, a secretary, and as an Avon lady for over 25 years.

Her special interests were reading her Bible, being active in church ministries including playing the church organ, singing in the choir and bowling on a church league when younger. She loved reading Christian novels, doing Word Search books, gardening, canning, shopping, sewing and baking for her family. Her focus in life was God and family.

She had been a member of Flatrock Baptist since 1975.
