Violet Lillian Kohl, age 99, passed away September 24, 2018. Beloved wife of the late William Kohl. Loving mother of Barbara Lewis and Eric Kohl. Dear grandmother of Ryan(Amy) . Step grandmother of John and Jim Lewis. Violet also leaves behind Regina Goforth-Lewis, her great  grandchildren  Ellen, Ben, James and Sam Lewis,  many caring nieces and nephews and her dear friend Abby Sunshine.

A Gem to Cherish

Throughout Violet's years there have been may things to learn from. A true woman of God, a friend to all, and a shoulder to lean on. To the ones that crossed her path, they were forever changed. Among the constant joy and happiness, I had the privilege of experiencing some moments I'll never forget. I remember many meals sitting at the table sharing our love for God and wisdom from someone I knew had much more knowledge than myself. Among the serious talks, there was plenty of comedy. Violet brought to attention my lack of ability to match my socks. "Wow, those socks are so vibrant," she muttered to me as I stand with a neon green sock and another with purple owls on them. From this silly story, one can see how Violet would explain her dislikes in the kindest way. I'm happy to say I have matched my socks every day since then, and I know Violet's up there smiling at my small effort. Thank you, Violet, for constantly spreading sunshine on a world that needed just that. Until we meet again, old friend.
