Wallace Kenneth
Miller
May 3, 1931 – March 2, 2023
May 3, 1931 – March 2, 2023
Wallace "Wally" Miller, 91, long-time resident of Taylor, MI, went back home to Our Lord March 2, 2023, surrounded by his family. Wally served his country in the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, stationed for a time at Yakota Base (Tokyo, Japan) as a member of the 59th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron.
Upon his honorable discharge, Wally returned to Michigan and married the love of his life, Helen (Salesky). He earned a certificate in Industrial Electronics and Automation, and worked tirelessly along with Helen to provide for their family of four boys. He instilled in his sons a love of fishing, hunting and the outdoors, and was involved as their scouting leader and youth baseball coach. Yet he still found time to remain active in the community, and particularly enjoyed serving his parish (St. Paschal, Taylor) at festivals, and as a choir member, usher and an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. He and Helen were blessed with 60 years of marriage before she preceded him home in 2016. In recent years, he enjoyed the company of new friends he met while residing at American House (Taylor, MI).
Wally was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his four sons and their families: Herbert (Joni), David (Mary), Kenneth (Laura), Gary (Dawn); grandchildren: Lindsay (Nick) Robell; Brittany Miller, Stefan (Brianna) Miller, Jacob (Amanda) Miller, Kristin (Drew) McLane, Martha (Brandon) McAleer, Sam (Leah) Miller, Joshua Miller and Alyson Miller; great-grandchildren: Josephine, Charlotte, Brayden, McKenna and Jayce - as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 6224 Pelham Road, Taylor, MI 48180. Memorial donations in honor of Wally can be made to Angela Hospice https://angelahospice.org/donate/
