Walter L Williams, aged 87, passed away peacefully in his Dearborn Heights home on August 24, 2022 while comforted by his family members and care team.

Walter was preceded in death by his loving wife Judith A Williams. He was survived by children Denise Titus, Julia (Paul) Staples, Danny L Williams, Kathleen (Craig) Klinck, Jeffrey (Loretta) Williams, and Donna (David) Hallenbeck. He was the Grandfather of 17 and Great-Grandfather of 22.

Walter was born on March 14, 1935 in Carbon Hill, Alabama to Jeff David Williams and Dovie O. Manasco. His best friends growing up were Hubert Ganes and Lydell Alexander and they attended Carbon Hill High School together.

Walter was a hard working and loving husband and father. Walter was a machinist at Great Lakes Steel and even held a 2nd job for 10 years at Iverson Industries where he worked with his son, Danny. Walter's favorite activities were gardening, fishing, and watching the stock market. Throughout his working years, and especially in retirement, he was a role model and went above and beyond to participate in all facets of his grandchildren's lives.

Walter's funeral service is at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home at 1pm on Monday August 29, 2022. Visitation is on Sunday August 28, 2022 from 2-8pm.
